Greta is the average Amish woman, yet loves to embrace those differences that many from her culture do not. She thrives on learning new things, doing new things, cooking new foods. Her family many times is her guinea pig trying a new dish from India or Greece, but they usually come out the better. Would the one she has longed for since grade school learn of her "crush?" Samuel was of course her brothers best friend. Could he really notice the non-traditional, traditional Amish woman that she grew up to be? Greta loves God and loves the beauty of the teachings that she was raised with. She believes that you don't have to be Amish to love or serve God. You just have to be forgiven. Renee was not taught to live for herself, to run after the first man to catch her eye. After devastation, she ended up doing things that she never dreamed of doing. She was alone and had to make a living, even if it was illegal. Finally tiring of the fear, and degrading life, Renee made her break to leave and start over. Through an accident, she crossed paths with Greta, needing her help. After learning that her last relative had died, she was alone and dependent on Greta's family. To make things worse, Renee had just received a blow worse than anything that she could ever imagine. Could this blow actually be the biggest blessing of her life? How would she, being so worldly fit into this God honoring family? Would they accept her? Miracles never cease, despite the heart ache, joys and tragedies.

I agree that this was a poorly written and poorly proofread book. The grammar mistakes made me think it was written by a child. The author would go from first to third person in the same sentence. There were many spelling errors that should have been caught before publishing. After a while these problems became rather annoying and distracting. The story, or lack there of, was not believable. The author would explain away deviations from customary Amish life and traditions with flimsy excuses. There were several instances where an Amish character would say something that was too contemporary. This makes me think she learned about the Amish from a TV reality show. When Samuel asked Greta if she had "witnessed" for Renee,it became very obvious to me that the author was confusing the Amish ways with other christian beliefs. The Amish do not pray out loud in restaurants, they are very private in their worship. The family interactions were not what is usual in an Amish home. The Amish men don't "swap chores" with their wives, follow "honey do lists" or tell their children its fine to skip chores/school/work because someone is having a baby. Life goes on despite outside influences. They have a balance and routine that gives their lives purpose. Even more unbelievable, Greta and Sarah "take 2 days off for pampering" Really? This book contained a lot of what I would call "filler'. A conversation regarding ordering a meal in a restaurant becomes a tedious litany of the menu, "do you want mashed potatoes and gravy? which vegetable do you want? Do you have corn on the cob?" Boring! I found this book a waste of time and $1.99!

well worth the read enjoy all the books ... would recommend it very enjoyable....hard to put down just want to keep reading!
I could not wait to read the second of this book it was such an awesome story and now I would like to see a third book ! I hope there will be a third and I want to be one of the first to buy it.
I read it,but do not know what it was getting at ,but I did not care for it. She needs some guiding and help,I think she may make it if she wants it bad enough. But to be fair I do think she can make this writing a good story with a good plot.
This book was an interesting read. Once I started, I just kept on going and looked forward every night to picking up that book to continue the story. Although there were some punctuation and grammatical errors, the story kept me interested and I didn't notice it so much. I loved watching the character of Renee grow spiritually and the book gave me plenty of things to think about.

I am glad I purchased her book. The author is on the right track and I'm looking forward to her next book.
This wonderful book shows the power Out Savior holds. To cross the great divides of race, religion, violence and culture shows faith, commitment, courage and love !! This story shows all that!!!!! I hope you next book goes back and finds Renee's friend and daughter guiding them thru the Lord's way he will make for them!!!!!
I really did like it. The only real issue I had was with the editing which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Rita's writing style is a bit different from some of the other Amish-writing authors, but it was a nice change. And she kept me interested through the whole story...I found myself not skipping over sentences or paragraphs as I sometimes do when a storyline starts to drag.

So I you are looking for a story that is new and fresh (and don't mind a few graphical errors), read this "With All Her Heart". You won't be disappointed.
I just finished reading the book With All Her Heart, I know this is the first book that Rita Kellogg has written and put on for Sale.
My opinion is that for a first book it is a winner. Found some publishing errors in spelling but all in all I think it came together very nicely and had a very good story line. It also has a lot of good things in for people to remember and be encouraged with.
Keep up the good work Rita.
